P25MSM BMW Z3 1.9
Presentable and
practical Z3; recent tyres and rear springs; all up together and ready for
immediate fun post-lockdown; peppy twin-cam engine
Sharp looks,
benign handling and a sparkly short-stroke twin-cam….sounds Italian doesn’t
it?
In this case it’s not though – its German and comes in Z3 form, with
German design quality to boot.
This pretty, Hellred narrow-body 1997
example has been in the vendor’s hands since late 2017 and has delivered lots of
fun but is now surplus to requirements since the arrival of a Ducati!
It
has covered 102,000 miles and has been well maintained. The accompanying book
pack includes the service book which has 9 stamps to 70,000 miles in 2012. The
car did little for a while, before a major service at Gerry Doverman BMW
specialists in Hereford which included new plugs, leads, catalytic converter and
O2 sensor in November 2017. The bill for this was £972 and took place at 81,738
miles.
Subsequent maintenance has been done by the vendor, which has
included regular oil changes (less than 50 miles on its most recent oil and
filter change), two new rear springs and a water pump and pulley. As you will
already know, BMW gave these engines cam chains rather than belts which adds to
piece of mind.
It has a manual hood (no fussy electric motors there)
which is in perfectly serviceable order and apart from a slightly lazy driver’s
electric window – the car is working as it should. It even had two new tyres for
its last MOT – and has covered just 3,000 miles since. Its current ticket
expires on 23rd July 2020 and carries just two minor advisories for ARB bushes
and slight play in the o/s ball joint.
Carrying the nice number P25 MSM,
this bright red Z3 does have a few scuffs and bruises which are shown in the
pictures, but is perfectly presentable and ready for some budget summer top-down
motoring - and it's offered at No Reserve.
Please note that the passenger
mirror has sustained some damage getting it out of the garage and will need
attention
