1985 Mercedes-Benz 280SL

A high days and holidays car owned by a lady in Scotland, this 1985 Astral Silver 280SL has been in the same family ownership since 1988.

Used regularly and maintained by the local garage, it has now got to the stage where it needs some TLC to the lower bodywork. Its last MOT expired in March 2019 and showed no advisories and the car still runs and drives. It has covered 118,000 miles from new.

The accompanying service book has 18 stamps which show the mileage to be correct and the book pack also includes the handbook.

The interior of the car has worn extremely well, with excellent leather upholstery and wood trim. It comes with a hard top, which we were unable to remove so do not know the condition of the hood.

The vendor had purchased the necessary panels to repair the car, including sills, good doors, rear valence and  bumpers which are available to the successful bidder by separate negotiation if required.

This car has gone in the usual 280SL places, but is eminently restorable and has the potential to become a nice low-owner car.

AMENDMENT; Bidders are advised that this car currently shows as stolen on Experian - we have an emial on file from the insurance company dated 01/07/2 stating they have no interest in this car and that they have made arrangements for its Stolen marker to be removed. It may well be clear by the time of the auction tonight, but if not, in the next 24 -48 hours. It is being sold as clear title and not stolen.
