Description
1967 MGB GT MK1
AMENDMENT; Manual overdrive
model; Mark 1; unused for some years; for recommissioning; nice interior and
highly original; wires, no sunroof and overdrive
This 1967 BGT is
something of an enigma, in that it comes will nothing in the way of history or
paperwork, other than we know it was recently rescued from the barn of a
Scottish Doctor who had owned it for many years.
Off the road for some
considerable time, it has clearly had restoration work done in the past and
looks reasonably solid, although it will need some remediation to the paintwork
and bodywork in a few areas.
Retaining a lot of originality, including
the dash and steering wheel, the interior is in good order and its owner has
resisted the temptation to fit a sunroof. Sitting on wires and fitted with an
overdrive, the engine turns freely and there are a few service parts in the
boot, although the clutch master cylinder is stuck and the brakes will need some
work before it is ready for the road.
The registation number is still
listed on the DVLA database so it should be possible for its new owner to obtain
a fresh logbook in the usual way.
These early BGTs are so much nicer than
the later variants in so many detailed ways that a bit of elbow grease on this
car will be amply rewarded further down the road.
AMENDMENT; On checking
the chassis number, we understand this car is a Mk1 and not a Mk2 as previously
catalogued.
