Description
1968 Daimler Sovereign
Converted to manual
with overdrive; very smart example with sound bodywork; stainless exhaust; a
most appealing car crying out for more regular use
This
impressive Daimnler Sovereign 420 was completed on 13th June 1968, painted dark
blue and trimmed in black leather according to the accompanying Heritage
Certificate.
It was delivered to its first owner, a Mr Denis Russell
through the Eton Motor Group, registered WAN 52G and according to the V5C, has
had just four more keepers since then.
It comes with its original Owner's
Service Policy, Daimler Sales and Service list, lubrication chart and about
14 old tax discs. It was looked after by Jaguar and Daimler
specialists Norman Motors from 1992, with various bills on file up to 2004.
It has a stainless exhaust fitted by them and has only covered some
5,000 miles since they looked after the car.
There are 12 old MOTs on
file which would tend to substantiate the indicated 93,000 miles as correct,
although the online printout shows an error in 2006 and 2007 where the 9
must have been read as a 3....
We are not quite sure when, but at some
time the automatic gearbox was swapped for a manual with overdrive, the
installation being done to a high standard.
The bodywork is sound,
with good panel gaps and straight lines. The paintwork is good too, with just a
few areas of minor paint reaction and its last MOT expired in
2015.
This is a perfect example of a good car needing more regular
use.
