Fantastic opportunity; overdrive; Webasto sunroof;
lots of fun to be had
Every right-minded enthusiast should have an
MGB at some time in their life. It is at this point that they will appreciate
that a classic car doesn’t need to cost a fortune to run, break down all the
time or be slow and uncomfortable.
There are a host of very good reasons why
the model has remained so enduringly popular and before anyone dismisses them
because of their popularity, they should own one first.
The last-of-the-line and much-maligned rubber bumper MGB GT is – despite
the popular opinion of the bar-room bore – a good car. True, it’s not a sports
car, but then it never was - the clue is in the name: GT (Grand Tourer).
First registered in February 1980, this MGB has had its fair share of
owners over the years but does appear to have been looked after my most. At one
point in its life, we understand it had some smart Sebring valances fitted but
now she is back to her original appearance with the aforementioned rubber
bumpers.
The current private owner bought this car from Brightwells a few years
ago and although has enjoyed and regularly MOTd her, work commitments has meant
he no longer is able to take her out as often as he would like so it is on offer
again for another lucky chap or chapess.
All in all, this is a clean and tidy GT which does what it should and has
an MOT until September 2021.
