2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX
FQ360
Ballistic 2-owner 360Bhp Evo IX FQ360 with just 26,855
miles in totally original and unmolested condition
Stunning yet ferocious Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX FQ360
finished in silver with carbon adornments unique to the FQ360 series.
Dating from September 2006 this turbocharged monster
develops 366 wild, wild horses according to the original sales literature
included and delivers this power through the final evolution of Mitsubishi’s
legendary 1,97cc four-cylinder 4G63 twin scroll turbo unit with MIVEC.
As an FQ360, it boasts a Zytec ITP high pressure fuel pump and Janspeed
high flow catalyst and re-programmed ECU giving 366bhp and 363lb ft of torque
from just 3,200rpm resulting in explosive acceleration and a 0-60mph time of
just 3.9 seconds driven through the proven all-wheel drive system.
With just two registered owners from new, Mr King of
Buckinghamshire first took delivery from the Colt Car Centre Ltd of Cirencester
who delivered the majority of Evos in the UK. He kept it until 2007
when it had covered 9,000 miles. The second owner (purchase invoice for £28,000
on file) kept the car until we sold it in our June 2017 sale to its third
unregistered keeper who drove the car 70 miles home and preserved it, as it was
then, and is now in his garage until today.
With just 26,855 miles recorded (only a handful more than
when presented for its last MOT (26,654) which expired in February 2018) the car
is barely run in, the Recaro half Alcantara seats look barely sat in, the
interior superb and the six-speed manual box looking most inviting in today’s
world of flappy-paddle DSG semi-auto ‘boxes.
The Evo is in completely stock specification as it left
Ralli-Art, and still wears its superb model specific Speedline 17inch five-spoke
tarmac rally specification alloy wheels. Many of these very special cars have
been re-mapped, or modified to give even more power (a re-map and upgraded fuel
pump can see 400bhp+ quite readily) which although perhaps even more awesome,
often dilutes the original pure recipe that made them such an epic point to
point weapon.
The car’s history file includes the V5C, old style V5, 6
old MOTs, Tracker docs, original owner’s pack, manuals, emergency key card and
service book with supplying dealer stamp and PDI both by Ralli-Art dealer
No.0227 and the following 7 by Ralli-Art dealer No.0554. The last stamped
service was in August 2013 at 21,287 miles. The file also includes a selection
of invoices for both parts and servicing, the most recent being in March 2016 at
26,149 miles by J&M Automotive in Marlow. Evidently due a service (timing
belt) and fresh MOT the car is begging to be used, albeit sparingly to preserve
its condition and mileage making it undoubtedly one of the best and lowest
mileage Evo IX FQ360s on the market, or in the UK. It was investment alert when
we sold it before, and its arguably even more so now.
