1912-14 Douglas 2 3/4 HP Racer

Previously the property of Works Douglas racer Alfie Alexander ( 1912 to 1924); 1912 engine with "works" TT barrels, 1914 frame, probably a replacement after an accident according to an accompanying letter from a Douglas marque specialist; Reg No S9084 was used on all of Alfie Alexanders bikes and the accompanying large file of documentary provenance shows him on a variety of Douglas machines all bearing this number; this machine spent time in the Doune Museum ( Scotland) from which there is paperwork; rare opportunity to obtain a pioneer racing machine with history
