Description
1990 Volkswagen LT-35 Luton Van
No
Reserve
Two owners, the last since 1993, useful Luton body,
sibling to the Bedford TK from family business, now deceased
Hailing from the same deceased estate as its bigger sibling, Lot 33 the
wonderful Bedford TK, this February 1990 Volkswagen LT-35 was operated by the
same small family firm in the Forest of Dean and has had just two owners from
new, and has been in the current ownership since January 1993.
Its
powered by the venerable 2.4 diesel lump with 5-speed dog-leg
manual gearbox and has covered 159,068 miles - a walk in the park for
any commercial vehicle. The LT-35 moniker suggests a gross payload of 3500KG
with considerable capacity in the Luton van box for an awful lot of, er, boxes
perhaps.
The van has been in storage along with the Bedford TK since the
vendors passing and has not been on the road since it was last MOT'd in April
2009 at which time is had covered 159,067 miles. The truck looks to be in
sound order and starts on the button, running well at the time of our
photography here on site.
The history file includes the V5C and also the
original service book showing some 24 stamps, the last at 115,062 miles in July
1992. Ideal for transporting light and bulky items or converting into a
glam, bijou living machine, think "Grand Designs" ....what would George or Will
do with it?!
