1984 Mini Mayfair
Family owned from new; just
64,000 miles; MOT until August next year; driven 50+ miles to the
sale
Purchased new by the vendor's Aunt in 1984, this bright red
Mayfair was used as her everyday transport until she passed away. The car was
inherited by her son, who shortly after passed it to his daughter
in 1992 by which time it had covered some 18,160 miles. The V5C shows three
previous keepers.
She used the car as her everyday transport too, but
eventually it was put away in her garage in 1998 by which time it
had covered around 50,000 miles.
It was to remain locked away until
around 2011 when it was gifted to another family member (our vendor),
who commissioned Worcester Classic Cars to bring the Mayfair back to
safe, usable condition. The bill for this work amounted to some £2,000 -
with bills to prove. The odometer at this point read some 52,650 miles at
the time of its 2011 MOT.
There are numerous more recent bills
for work and parts, the car having been used and maintained ever since. The
mileage still reads under 65,000 miles and it has a current (no advisory)
MOT which expires in August next year.
Clean and tidy on the inside,
and with a few touch-up blemishes on the exterior as shown in the
photos, this is a sound little car to use and improve as time and funds
allow.
Driven some 50 miles to the sale, it comes with two sets of keys
and its original handbook.
