1991 Ford Escort Cabriolet

May 2021
The name
‘Escort’ has come a long way since 1955, first appearing on the
estate version of the 100E Anglia, and it’s not uncommon for them to
have travelled a few miles over the years. This one is still under the six
figure mark and shows just 88,000 on the clock.
Multiple MOTs
on file and the service history spanning its early life appear to confirm the
mileage, tracking it all the way back to its initial 1500 and 6000 mile
services. The car has been registered to quite a few owners over the years,
although the overall condition does imply that most have given it the correct
care and attention over time.
The most
recent history and maintenance done on the car was back in 2016, when it was
given a small birthday in the form of new cambelt, filters, plugs, fuel pump and
a clutch kit. At the same time, a new hood was bought and fitted for the cost of
£890. We understand this is also still in fully working order. In May,
this year it was awarded its most recent MOT, with only some minor advisories on
some tyre wear and a small oil leak.
‘The freedom
of open-top motoring is yours for the asking in the new, sleek – and sporty –
Escort Cabriolet.’ That’s what the brochure said so it’s now up to you whether
you would like one to take home with you.
