Description
1967 MGB GT Mk1
Manual overdrive model; Mark
1; unused for some years; for recommissioning; nice interior and highly
original; wires, overdrive an no sunroof
This 1967 BGT comes with
nothing in the way of history or paperwork, but we know it was recently rescued
from the barn of a Scottish Doctor who had owned it for many years. It has
a current V5C and is currently on SORN.
Off the road for some
considerable time, it has clearly had restoration work done in the past and
looks reasonably solid, although it will need work to the paintwork and
bodywork, although the chassis rails look reasonably sound.
Retaining a
lot of originality, including the dash and steering wheel, the interior is in
good order and its owner has resisted the temptation to fit a sunroof. Sitting
on wires and fitted with an overdrive, the engine turns freely although bidders
are advised that the clutch master cylinder is stuck and the brakes will
need a full overhaul.
These early BGTs are so much nicer than the
later variants in so many detailed ways. It is a restoration project which
will repay the budget-concious enthusiast who wants an early Mk1
BGT.
