Reserve
Oselli tuned engine; unleaded head; lots of history;
wire wheels; recent new tyres and soft top; Heritage Certificate; ready to
enjoy
As the Heritage Certificate shows, this MGB Roadster was
built in March 1966 and was originally Old English White with a black interior
and came with options including wire wheels and a heater. Sold to its first
owner via Stewart & Ardern Ltd of Acton, London, it still bears its original
registration number and is a ‘matching numbers’ car.
Clearly a much-cherished machine, it comes with a large
history file back to 1990 to document work carried out over the years, including
an AA Inspection Report from 1994 which summarised it as being ‘in well above
average condition for a vehicle of this age’.
Between 1994 and 2001 it belonged to an Oxford University
professor who had it maintained by Oselli with many invoices to show work
carried out by them. This included an engine rebuild in 1999 at 15,287 miles
with unleaded conversion and Oselli Performance Pack tuning and an oil cooler.
Since the engine rebuild it has covered some 14,700 miles, the odometer
currently showing 29,950 miles.
In 2004 the bodywork was restored with a couple of CDs on
file to document the process and in 2006 it got a new set of wire wheels. In
2008 it was put into storage where it remained for the next 10 years before
being recommissioned including a new set of tyres, a new vinyl soft top and a
pair of reconditioned SU carburettors.
Driven some 30 miles to the sale, it has an MOT until
September 2021 with no advisories recorded and now needs an enthusiastic new
owner to give it the more regular use it deserves.
