Lot Ended
Description
1952 Morris Minor MM
No Reserve
One
Shropshire owner from new; early split-screen four-door with 918cc side valve
engine; too good to scrap but needs a lot of work!
This Morris Minor MM was bought new by our vendor’s
grandfather in April 1952 as a gift for his daughter to mark the occasion of her
engagement. It has stayed in the family ever since and has spent its entire life
in the Shropshire village of Bayston Hill.
Our vendor has agonised over the sale of this much-loved
family member and has long harboured a dream to restore it to its former glory.
However, he has finally realised that he will never get round to this task and
as the house where it has been stored for many years is about to be sold, he now
wishes to pass it on to an enthusiast with the time and the resources to get the
job done.
As you can see in the photos, HUJ 935 is now looking quite
sorry for itself but it is certainly not beyond saving and it would be a crime
to scrap it or to break it up for parts. To get the winning bidder fired up for
the task, the vendor has supplied a photo of what the car looked like when it
was new which we have displayed on our website (see last image).
It comes with an old style V5 which means that getting it
re-registered will be no more than a formality and it will retain the Shropshire
number plate that it has worn proudly for all of its 69 years to
date.
PS: We now have the V5 for this vehicle and it records a change of
owner in Nov 1983 but to another family member (same address and surname as the
first lady owner).
