2001 Range Rover 2.5 DHSE (P38)
December 2001
late registration P38 in top DHSE spec; 2.5 6-pot diesel; automatic 'box; 9
service stamps; privacy glass
Supplied new by James Edwards Land Rover Centre in
December 2001 this late registration P38 comes in top spec DHSE guise and is
fitted with the robust 2.5-litre BMW sourced six-pot turbo diesel driven
here through automatic transmission with full time four-wheel drive.
Riding on its air suspension which looked to work as it
should when we moved it around for these images, it looks smart in blue sat on
its 18inch twin-spoke Hurricane alloy wheels with contrasting cream leather
interior piped blue and walnut trim. The seats are heated, with electric
adjustment and memory on the driver’s side with electric lumbar adjustment too.
Showing 117,362 miles by its six owners the car looks to
have worn its miles and 19 years well with but a few marks as pictured. The
history file includes the V5c, owner’s pack and service book with 13 stamps and
1 hand-written entry, the last in May 2009 by Froggatts Range Rover specialists.
In addition, there are 2 keys, 15 old MOTs dating back to 2005 and a selection
if invoices for maintenance including a replacement radiator in August 2016
costing £480, replacement transfer ‘box in April 2016 costing £200. Most
recently we see fitment of a new timing chain in June 2019 costing £457 and
service kit in May 2020 costing £104.37.
Boasting a current MOT valid until December 2021 with just
two minor advisories recorded. Late model P38’s have become good news of late
and are most usable, capacious and enjoyable.
