Unusually smart example of this luxury
limousine; electric heated seats; walnut picnic tables; good service
history; affordable opulence
Supplied new in April 1996 by Dutton Forshaw of
Newcastle-upon-Tyne, this smart Daimler Six has had five owners to date and has
covered 98,568 miles with a good service history comprising three stamps in the
book up to 30,660 miles in January 1999 plus invoices for seven subsequent
services, the last at 97,359 miles in December 2018.
Other invoices include new front brake pads and calipers
in December 2003 at 55,434 miles; two new exhaust silencers in March 2004 at
55,782 miles; new front coil springs and brake pipes in April 2007 at 66,018
miles; new windscreen in May 2009; air con service with new drier and condenser
in August 2013 at 87,308 miles; new alternator in December 2018 at 97,359 miles;
new battery in April 2019.
Finished in Spruce green with a cream leather interior,
this is the long-wheelbase version offering greater legroom for its rear
passengers to kick back and relax while enjoying the cosseting magic carpet ride
and luxurious finish inside. If your front passenger encroaches too much into
your rear legroom, a couple of handy switches in the back allow you to move this
irksome encroacher forward to give you more room.
Other luxuries include: walnut door cappings with inlays;
walnut folding tray tables in the rear; deep lambswool overmats; digital climate
control with air conditioning and separate rear ventilation; tilt and slide
sunroof; cruise control; heated electric front seats with driver memory; rear
window blind; modern Kenwood CD player with DAB. There is also a valet button,
should you wish to prevent a parking attendant from seeing what you have in the
boot. All the original handbooks are present, along with three keys and two
fobs.
Our vendor bought this car via Brightwells in the summer
of 2019 to join a collection of classic cars but apart from driving it home to
Shrewsbury, he has barely been out in it since due to the Covid restrictions. He
has kept it in a heated garage and reports that it drives as well as it looks
and although the last MOT expired in December 2019, it has only done around a
thousand miles since it passed that test so getting a new ticket should be
straightforward.
We can confirm that it is an unusually smart example and
it is being offered here at no reserve so the best bid takes it home.
Incidentally, an invoice shows that the second owner paid £24,000 for this car
in 1999 when it had done 34k miles so it will be interesting to see what toll
has been exacted by depreciation in the 22 years and 64k miles that have passed
since!
AMENDMENT - This car had advisories for corrosion underneath when
it passed the last MOT in Dec 2018 so we have just added photos of the underbody
to the website.
