2005 BMW 645CI (E63)
Sleek and powerful
four-seat coupe with 329bhp on tap; 19" wheels; full black leather; i-Drive and
good history
Supplied new by Henry Brothers BMW Ltd of Glasgow in March
2005, this attractive E63 generation 6-series is offered here in potent 645CI
guise. Finished in lovely Mineral Silver (option - A14) with chrome line
exterior trim (0346) wearing distinctive 19" LA Ellipsoid 121 alloy wheels
(0595) with staggered fitment, the car, despite distinctive styling that divided
opinion at the time has dated well and looks both sleek and refined,
particularly in this colour and wheel combination.
Inside, we find contrasting full black Dakota leather
interior (LCSW) with electric operation, memory (0459) and 3-stage seat heating
(0494). The interior trim boasts the cost option of fine grain dark interior
trim (0436), thicker rimmed multi-function sports steering wheel (0255) trimmed
in black leather, cruise control (0540), automatic xenon lights (0522) with
headlight cleaning system (0502), the desirable Driving Dynamics Package (0237)
with Dynamic Drive (0229), active steering (0217), auto dimming rear view mirror
((0431), passenger footwell storage net (0414), Bluetooth connectivity (0644)
and i-Drive with navigation (0609) capability and voice control (0620), parking
sensors (0508), automatic climate control with A/C (0534), light package (0563),
CD changer (0672) and white indicators (0785) - you can see that the car has a
comprehensive specification!
Under the sculpted bonnet, we find BMW’s superb N62 series
4.4 litre V8 engine, developing 329bhp and a whopping 450NM of torque, driven to
the rear wheels through 6-speed automatic/tiptronic transmission with Sports
mode giving the car very strong acceleration and mid-range Oomph.
The history file includes the V5C showing five former
keepers to the current of almost three years, owner’s pack and service book
revealing 11 stamps including PDI, the last at 101,512 miles in July 2020 by RAC
Approved garage Bryngwyn Service Station, part of the Autofirst Network plus one
old MOT.
In addition, there are a selection of service invoices
including the most recent costing £327 which included 8 new plugs, another from
the same garage dated August 2020 for £245 when a new coolant expansion tank was
fitted along with 2 new front link bars, and another in December 2020 for
£587.72 which saw new O/S and N/S brake pipes, lower suspension arm, inner and
outer bushes, new rear upper arm and MOT. Another invoice of note in
December 2018 at 87,164 miles for £464 which included new rocker cover gaskets,
an MOT and an air con re-gas plus further older invoices for works and parts.
Two new rear tyres have also just been fitted at a cost of £150.28 in March
2021. The current MOT is valid until December 2021 with 5 minor advisories
for tyre wear (new tyres since fitted) brake pipe corrosion/covered in
grease (attended to looking at the £587 invoice) and a minor oil leak.
An attractive coupe with only 106,254 miles, usable
seating for four adults, large boot and potent performance, this 6-series
represents an awful lot of car for little money. One cant help wonder why they
seem so criminally under-valued, but then again, so was its predecessor although
these are now commanding strong money – their time is yet to come it would
appear, so get one now while they are still affordable.
