1995 Rover 827 Coupe
Now rare to see 90's
coupe; 3-owners, the current since 2013 and just 88,000 miles indicated; 2.7 V6
power
Dating from Augist 1995, this quintessentially 90's coupe was
originally aimed at the US market, but Rover pulled out just ahead of the car's
debut. It sat at the top of the tree in the Rover 800 range, with at least 80%
of the coupe's body and interior finished by hand it oozes a sense of comfort
and 90's straight-line styling that somehow appeals to the nostalia within, well
to your consignor at least.
Finished in Champagne silver and sitting
on 16" Rover 'Prestige' alloy wheels and fitted with grey leather piped dark
grey and powered by the pokey and reliable 2.7-litre Honda-sourced V6
engine driven here, through 4-speed automatic transmission. The engine
developed a mighty 170bhp and gave the car a top speed in excess of 130mph - a
heady figure for the time, particuarly for a practical four seat
coupe.
Inside, we find big comfortable heated electric seats (armchairs!)
with driver memory and electric lumbar adjustment, glass sunroof, wood effect
trim, cruise control, climate control, electric windows and mirrors and a
radio/CD player.
Showing just 88,079 miles in the hands of its three
owners, the current since 2013 the car is a rare survivor of the marque - when
did you last see a Rover 800, let alone a coupe?
The history file
includes the V5C, selection of old tax discs, three old MOTs dating back to 2012
at 80,046 miles and current MOT valid until February 2022 with no advisories
recorded. Driven 60 miles to the sale, the vendor reporting all was well,
we feel inclined to agree bar the few localised areas of scabbing as pictured,
not unusual for a car of its era and age. It presents as an honest and likable
coupe with low miles and few owners - certainly an off-beat Modern
Classic.
