2002 Range Rover P38 Westminster Auto
No
Reserve
One of just 200 last-of-the-line P38s; economical
diesel with automatic transmission; fully loaded; nice colour combo
One of 200
run-out Westminster models we are told, this one is fitted with the economical
2.5-turbo diesel engine option of which just 50 are thought to have been
produced.
A brochure on file for the Westminster special edition model
lists the spec: painted Bonatti Grey, it came with luxurious ash black leather
with charcoal piping. The dash is adorned with Poplar Ash wood trim, as well as
the gear knob and partial wood trim steering wheel. It came with a 17-speaker
Harman Kardon ICE and an in-built Sat Nav (disc in boot).
18" Hurricane
alloys colour coded 'Gun Smoke' set off the SVO (Special Vehicles
Operation) body kit which included bumpers and sills - quite the piece and all
for the princely sum of £46,495...
This 153,000 mile example has an MOT
until February 2022 with just two minor advisories showing. The good history
file shows that it was sold in 2012 at 96,000 miles, its new owner giving it
lots of love and attention through Teversham Cars in Cambridge - numerous bills
on file showing a significant spend over the next few years. These total some
£12,600!
Highlights include an air-con condenser, gearbox cooler; pas
pump and box; water pump; ABS ECU (nb ABS light is still showing); alternator;
fuel pump; front and rear shocks; radiator and lots and lots of
servicing.
On top of this, Transmission Repairs North West removed and
overhauled the gearbox and torque convertor for another £2,500 in
2018.
The V5C shows nine previous keepers, the car coming with its book
pack including the owner's handbook and service book which shows the first
registration in March 2002 through Merlin in Cardiff. It was serviced at 6,177
in 2002, 11,591 also in 2002; 14,021 in 2003, 20,671 in 2003, 29,014 in
'04, 36,608 in '05 - all by Land Rover main agents and then the
aforementioned Teversham Motors from 2012 at 101,702 miles - eight stamps all
told plus the bills from 2012 onwards. The pack also includes the radio code,
EKA code and lock set code - and the locking wheel nut tool is present in
the tool box!
The vendor reports that the electric seat motors work
as does the heating system and central locking. The air
suspension functions correctly and it has been an easy starter since
arrival on site.
P38s have been on the move of late and this
last-of-the-line economical special edition diesel looks a good bet,
especially given the care and attention it has received over the last
10 years.
On offer at No Reserve, this is definitely one to keep an eye
on.
