Description
1983 Land Rover Series SIII
No
Reserve
Runs and drives with an MOT until September;
lots of work over the years including recently fitted new diesel tank; brake
shoes, rear cross member and more
Dating from
1983, this Landy was originally yellow and although has had ten previous keeps,
our vendor and the most recent keeper before him have completed many jobs on it
to keep it passing through those MoTs. Believed to be last painted about ten
years ago, (by hand one should add), it now is nicely patinated, showing as a
dark to light green/blue/yellow! Something rather casual and possibly camouflage
about this but the vendor has liked the look so has left it.
In 2015, it
was fitted with a new clutch assembly, rear drive shaft, upgraded plug kit and a
new right hand door top. The following year saw the cylinder head being
resurfaced and the cracked swirl chambers being replaced. In 2017 the rear cross
member was replaced, and new brake shoes and drums were fitted. The new diesel
tank was fitted more recently in 2020.
The car has
recently only been driven on warmish days, not surprising since there is no
heater, although it does come with a purchased 1990 Defender heater, which has
not been fitted, but could be.
Currently
holding an MoT until September this year, it shows two advisories indicating the
nearside rear leaf spring may need some attention and slight wheel bearing play.
The MoTs on file and online match the mileage showing on the vehicle as 55,000
and run back to 2007 at 40,000 miles.
An all round
handy Landy which is offered here with No
Reserve.
