Tidy, face-lift 209-series CLK with supercharged 1.8 in Avantgarde spec showing just 67,225 miles - ideal for the summer

Hailing from the end of the CLK 109 series production (just 8,741 sold in Europe in 2009, compared to 54,000+ in 2003), this smart face-lift example was supplied new by Mercedes-Benz of Worcester in June 2009 and is finished in Brilliant Silver, sat on attractive optional twin 5-spoke 17inch alloy wheels and black mohair soft-top. Under the bonnet we find the pokey, yet economic supercharged 1.8 litre four-cylinder petrol (M271 E18) engine developing 181bhp (versus 161bhp for the pre-2007 model) and 250NM of torque, enough for brisk performance with more than acceptable economy. 

The Avantgarde spec includes a 15mm lower ride height than the Elegance model, with thicker anti-roll bars, stiffer springs, aluminium trim inside, blue tinted glass and black grill. In addition we find a black leather interior, 7-speed automatic/tiptronic transmission, trip computer, multi-function steering wheel, dual zone automatic climate control with A/C, automatic lights, electric windows and electric folding mirrors, fully automated electric roof with heated glass rear screen, seat heaters for both front seats, cruise control with speed limit, head lamp wash, front and rear parking sensors and phone prep with cradle for a period Nokia.

Showing just 67,225 miles the car presents very well with few signs of age and has evidently been well cared for.  Within the history file we find 2 keys, the V5C showing just 4 previous owners. Our vendor acquired it in November 2017 with 44,317 miles whereupon four new Pirelli tyres were fitted at a cost of £651 and then shortly afterwards it was treated to an 'A' service including brake fluid change at Sinclair Mercedes of Cardiff in December 2017 at a cost of £836. A second trip to the same dealer in February 2019 saw the car treated to a 'B' service with new spark plugs at  55,669 miles costing £499 with the discs and pads then being changed in April 2019 at 57,762 miles costing £232.

Advance Motortec replaced two tyres (£127) and then serviced the car again with four-wheel alignment at 64,997 miles in November 2019 at a cost of £264 with both front rack ends and one new tyre following in December 2019 at a cost of £277. Just 3,000 miles have passed under its wheels since then giving the new owner peace of mind. In addition, the file includes the owner's pack and service book revealing 7 stamps plus 3 hand written entires for Sinclair MB services and the last by Advance Motortec in November 2019, 7 old MOTs and current ticket valid until August 2021 with no advisories recorded.
