2005 LTI TXII Gold Taxi
Iconic London Taxi in
Gold spec with proven 2.4 diesel and manual 'box; easy access wheel chair ramp;
ideal for slipping through congestion charge zones in utter anonymity
Dating from July 2005 this late model TXII taxi is built by London
Taxi International and features the proven 2.4 litre Ford Duratorq inter-cooled
diesel engine giving a 21% increase in torque over its Nissan-based
predecessor and is here, unusually, driven via 5-speed manual transmission
and finished in light blue rather than boring black.
These LTI Taxi's are
always popular with some buying them for anonymous travel into cities avoiding
congestion charges and using bus/taxi lanes for swift progress and easy
parking/turning, others using them for unusual business ideas like mobile
photo-booths for which they work rather well given their capacious interiors or
even just to take a gaggle of kids to school with their ability to carry so many
in the back.
This example has covered a typically galactic mileage,
showing 398,900 at its last MOT in October 2020 recording just one advisory
for a slight oil leak although many have done twice this mileage with ease. In
addition, the history file includes the V5C showing 6 previous owners to our
vendor along with a TFL Taxi Licence confirming its use as a London taxi until
October 2020.
There are a few cosmetic issues to be expected given
its city usage, age and mileage, in particular the bottoms of both front doors
but nothing that couldn't be sorted with relative ease.
