Attractive SL with 3.7 V6 power in an attractive colour combination with considerable maintenance spend documented

Dating from 2004, this pre-facelift R230 series SL features the 242bhp 3.7 litre V6 which develops useful 350NM of torque mated to 5-speed automatic/tiptronic transmission driving the rear wheels.

Finished in a lovely shade of blue, riding on its original 18inch 5-spoke wheels the SL still looks sharp and turns heads, particularly when operating the slick electric folding metal roof. The car shows 101,302 miles and has had two former keepers, the car originating in Dublin where it resided before being brought to the UK in June 2016.

The spec includes full light grey leather, electric heated memory seats, adjustable lumbar, cruise control, automatic lights, Comand sat nav (with UK & Ireland disc), CD changer, light wood trim, half-timbered multi-function steering wheel, parking sensors, dual zone automatic climate control with A/C, electric windows and folding mirrors and original Nokia car phone with Viseeo Bluetooth adaptor.

Within the history file we find the V5C, 4 old MOTs, service book with eight stamps, the last in 2017 at 88,006 miles and selection of invoices revealing a recent spend of £920 with a local marque specialist on two new batteries (starter and consumer) and repair to a wiring fault. Other invoices include a major service in June 2019 including new gearbox oil cooler pipe, gearbox oil and radiator at a cost of £1300 with additional annual routine maintenance also documented with some £7939 spent on maintenance during the last 5 years at this specialist. Furthermore, 4 new Pirelli Rosso tyres were fitted by Kwik Fit in April 2017 costing some £717.

The current MOT expires at the end of June which is worth considering, but the lack of advisories on the last MOT which was just 3,000 miles ago combined with the recent significant spend bode well.

Presenting well for its age and miles, there are but a few marks commensurate with that, but it looks like good value and an awful lot of car at the guide price suggested.
