Description
1988 Citroen 2 CV6
Originally registered in
Northern Ireland and brought over to the mainland in 1990; galvanised chassis;
new wings, roof, paintwork and front king pins; comprehensive file of paperwork
with fresh MOT
Originally
registered as LJI 3611 in Northern Ireland (confirmation on file from the DVLA),
this 2CV was brought over to the mainland in 1990 and put on its current E920
number. Having had at least eight owners over its lifetime, it has had its fair
share of wear and tear over time, but most of this has been attended to,
making it a perfectly presentable little Citroen.
Almost every
MOT is present since 1990, suggesting that the mileage of 63,600 is most likely
to be correct and the file is stuffed full of invoices recording expenditure
over the years.
One of the
most important details to note is a galvanised chassis being purchased and
fitted in 1998. Later, in 2014 at 61,000 miles, new front and rear bumpers were
fitted, new shocks and the brakes were all stripped, cleaned and rebuilt.
Electronic ignition was added in 2015, followed by various repairs to other
electrics and lighting. In 2017, the bonnet and boot were repainted along with
one or two 2CV-expected welding repairs. In 2020/21 all its birthdays came at
once – being fitted with new front wings, a new roof, new vent shutter kit,
new battery and a complete respray at MCM Body Repairs in
Droitwich.
Before being
put through its last MOT, which is valid until June 2022 with no advisories, it
also had some minor welding done in the boot floor and in one of the inner wheel
arches. Ready to go and driven to us for the auction, E920 VEA may not be
perfect, but it is certainly very presentable, useable and also
attractively estimated.
