Description
1976 Fiat 133
Extremely rare UK market variant
of the proven Seat 133, believed 1 of 3 remaining and in wonderful restored
order
An exceedingly rare car in the UK, (1 of
just 3 believed left registered) this lovely little Fiat 133 as they were known
in the UK, a Seat 133 through much of mainland Europe, is powered by an 843cc
rear mounted inline four cylinder four-stroke motor which developed 34bhp, an
engine previously used in the Fiat/Seat 850 model, but here with a more
contemporary (at the time) body shape akin to the Fiat 126, although somewhat
larger.
This smart 1976 Moss green example was restored by its
previous owner, although sadly there is no documentation confirming the extent
of the work, although clearly, from looking over the car, much has been done
as it looks akin to a new 133!
Showing just 30,000 miles, its
impossible to say if this is accurate, but its nice to have on the odometer! The
interior features black vinyl seating with rubber flooring, all very minimalist
and all the better for it, offering great visibility and a feeling of
connectedness rarely found with heavily insulated modern cars.
Starting
promptly and running well as we moved it around for these shots and video it was
a delight. The history file includes the V5C and current MOT, although exempt
valid until July 2021 with two minor advisories for wear to a king pin and
slight exhaust blow.
Ready to be enjoyed, this rare little car will leave
many guessing at the various classic car events its likely to attend through the
summer season.
