2006 Daihatsu Copen
Japanese 'Kei car' with
0.7ltr turbo'd engine giving peppy performance and clever folding
metal roof showing just 54,429 miles
Supplied new
in September 2006, this cutesy little Copen follows in the Figaro’s footsteps
with its Japanese Kei car ethos of a lightweight small car with a tiny
turbo-charged engine and big on fun factor. The engine is a 659cc turbocharged
inline four driven here through 5-speed manual transmission giving peppy
performance in the lightweight package. Even more fun, is the clever folding
metal roof element giving all year round useability.
Finished in silver
with contrasting burgundy leather interior the car offers heated seats and air
conditioning with power steering, ABS brakes and decent stereo with electric
windows and mirrors too. Lady owned, this Copen shows just 54,000 miles backed
up by 12 service stamps across two booklets, the last at 54,065 miles in June
2020 along with theV5C showing 6 previous owners, owner’s pack with manuals, 2
old MOTs and current valid until June 2022 with no advisories
recorded.
In generally good order, there are a few small blisters of
corrosion evident on both rear wheel arch lips (a common issue on the Copen)
which would benefit from correction, but with only 54,429 miles recorded, super
low running costs, peppy performance and year-round usability there is much to
like.
