1983 Land Rover Series III 88"
Late model 2.25
petrol; dependable workhorse with nice age related patina and useful recent
spend
Dating from March 1983 this late model Series
III 88" Landy has been enjoyed by our enthusiast vendor for the last 12 months,
mostly carrying his fishing tackle to those hard to reach sweet river-side
spots.
Powered here, by the 2 1/4 petrol four-cylinder unit, it has
black vinyl seats with centre squab fitted permitting 3 up front. The truck
presents well, in a loved, used and patinated way so loved by many. Sure, the
panels have some marks and differ slightly in their shades but that’s part of
the appeal, right? Some small side windows have been added into the rear hard
canopy cover to aid pulling out of junctions, without these, it can be a little
daunting!
Within the history file, we find the V5c showing 16 former
keepers, 5 old MOTs showing limited use in the past 10 years with only c. 10,000
miles covered up to the current indicated mileage of 84,586, current MOT valid
until July 2021 with 4 advisories for tyres perishing, a minor oil leak and some
adjustment needed on a wheel brake but she seemed to run and drive in the
typical agricultural style as it should when we moved it around for these images
and video.
In addition, there are a few bills on file for maintenance and
parts purchase including some recent spend on a new heater intake hose and
exhaust manifold gasket in July 2020 and a further £1330 spend in August 2020 on
a full service, new NSR shocker bushes, new distributor and ignition timing set
up, new rear brake shoes and pipes, replacement UK, welding to the footwells,
lubrication of the steering box, welding repairs to outrigger and general
underside repairs.
Ready to be enjoyed, it looks good value at the
enticing estimate here, mindful of the recent upward trend in
values
