2000 Ford Mondeo Ghia V6 X Estate

A full spec 2.5-litre V6 Ghia X Auto with just 18,314 miles on the clock; three owners from new; as you would expect of a pampered Mondeo with so few miles; fresh MOT to June 2022

The inclusion of a Mondeo in a Classic Auction may raise an eyebrow or two, BUT as Mondeos go, it is a bit of a 'classic'.

A top-of-the-range Mondeo Ghia X, it had every item in Ford's arsenal of gadgets available at the time - it must have cost a fortune. In fact it did, as a 'special order' car it cost in excess of £25,000.

Its a super-practical estate to boot and fitted with the 2,544cc V6 engine mated to an Auto box, every box was ticked with traction control, electric glass sunroof, full leather trim and heated front seats fitted by the factory.

It was sold new by Towy Ford in Carmarthen, registered on 6th January 2000 and has barely been used since, averaging under 1,000 miles a year. Its first owner kept it for 12 years, the car passing to a new owner for probate reasons for a period of just four months. In 2013 it came into the hands of the vendor who also barely used the car, adding just 2,500 miles since. The odometer reads just 18,314 miles today.

It carries a no advisory MOT until June 2022 and is exactly as one would hope of a car that has done so little.

So 'Mondeo Man' here is your chance to relive the 'noughties' and in some style too. An unconventional classic maybe, but a very practical one, it would make an interesting addition for any avid Ford collector, or for someone looking for budget motoring that will last a lifetime.
