Supplied new by Caledonia
Honda of Birmingham in January 1997 this early 5th Gen’ Prelude
features the potent 2.2 VTi H22A2 (as seen in the very last of the
4th Gen 2.2 VTi version before replacement by the H22A5 unit) and
develops 182bhp via the clever v-Tec system driving the front wheels through
4-speed automatic/tiptronic transmission and useful
4-wheel-steering.
This 90’s coupe is finished in Iceberg Silver and wears
a discreet factory body-kit with rear boot spoiler and sits on attractive
17-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels. Inside, we find comfortable dark grey fabric
seats, glass sunroof, air conditioning, cruise control, electric windows,
electric mirrors, radio/CD, walnut affect trim and useful 2+2
accommodation.
Within the history file, we find the V5C showing just 2
former keepers to the current lady owner of 15 years, the owner’s pack &
service book revealing 8 stamps including PDI plus 1 hand-written entry, the
last in July 2006 at 63,000 miles which purports to have been a cambelt service.
In addition an envelope contains the spare red master key and fob, purchase
receipt dated February 1998 by its 2nd owner costing £16,738 at
26,000 miles, a few old maintenance bills plus 1 more recently for a replacement
alternator and spark plugs in February 2021, at least 7 old MOTs plus the
current valid until December 2021 showing 10 advisories (go to www.check-mot.service.gov.uk and enter the
