1964 Jaguar MkII 3.4 Manual Overdrive
A
recently restored and usable example; manual/overdrive: recent respray;
PAS; wire wheels
This appealing MkII started life as 3.4 auto, the
accompanying buff logbook listing various Midland-based owners throughout
the 1970s.
More recently, it has had a fortune spent on it, including
a major - back to the metal respray in BRG which is recorded on photos,
taking place just last year as far as we can make out.
Multiple bills on
file for this period show numerous parts were supplied by SNG Barratt and Martin
Robey, and an XJ6 interior has been carefully fitted to front and rear. At this
time, the car was sporting a 3.8-litre E-Type engine, hence the exterior
3.8 badging and it was also fitted with a manual gearbox with
overdrive. It comes with Coombs rear spats, Coopercraft brakes and is also
fitted with a stainless exhaust.
Purchased by the vendor as part of a
deal to acquire its engine, the E-Type motor has been swapped out for
a sweet running 3.4-litre XJ6 unit, which is still mated to the MOD gearbox and
has the benefit of power steering.
The car sits on a set of wire wheels
with recent tyres and although no longer strictly factory original,
represents a very desirable version of the Mk II Jaguar for the price of a
significantly lesser model.
This looks to us like the perfect
opportunity to acquire a very sound rust-free, recently bodily restored Mk
II 3.4 MOD on wire wheels with PAS and a very smart full leather interior at a
price one would not normally associate with the model. This car ticks the boxes
and is well worth close inspection.
