2004 Maybach 57 (W240)
Incredible machine
costing over £300,000 new and showing just 42,144 miles with
bi-turbo V12, Champagne flutes, rear entertainment galore - Huge
value
Are you a budding Plutocrat, or maybe already
are and need something else to add to the garage....or, do you perhaps fancy the
ultimate in German opulence and luxury?
It doesn’t get more imposing than
this, the phenomenally well-appointed Maybach 57 on offer here is simply
staggering in all respects.
Dating from October 2004, this imposing 57
model (w240 series) features the twin-turbo Mercedes 5.5 litre v12 engine
developing 542bhp and a colossal 900NM of torque driving the rear wheels via
5-speed automatic transmission.
The car as a whole, whether in the front,
or in the rear is impressive. The spec of any Maybach is immense, and in this
example we find double-glazing, soft-close doors, electric boot, beautiful
fluted walnut trim, soft tan leather throughout piped burgundy to match the
coachwork with 14-way electric adjustment, heated memory seats with massage and
adjustable lumbar to all four seats, Comand navigation and in-car
entertainment with BOSE sound, adaptive cruise control, on-board computer,
automatic lights, air suspension with adjustable damping firmness and four-zone
climate control with two separate systems for front and rear
passengers.
The rear passengers are very well catered for, with two
individually contoured seats with a full range of electric adjustment, heated
rear seats, massage facility, electric rear door and window blinds, discreet
fold-out walnut tray tables, rear entertainment DVD screens, rear gauges for
clock, temperature and speed, rear climate control, rear vanity mirrors, Silver
champagne flutes and drinks tumblers, discreet fridge for champagne as well
as two hidden phones, one in the front and one in the rear, voice control
and wide-open rear doors. In the boot, we also find additional soft rear head
rest pillows and lambs-wood over mats front and rear plus umbrella and trickle
charge unit.
Whether driver or passenger there is something to be
impressed by, with the engineering tour-de-force that is Mercedes stand-alone
Maybach range (re-launched as a brand to showcase the absolute pinnacle of
German motoring quality in 1997) and one of only c.3000 built over 11 years and
just 244 in 2004, these are rare, desirable and incredibly impressive cars.
The car is badged Zeppelin, with the Zeppelin name incorporated into the
bonnet emblem which would indicate an even greater specification; however, the
Zeppelin brand was not introduced until 2009 – as such, it is unclear if this is
merely a badge upgrade, or the car has had further upgrades to Zeppelin spec
post 2009 which is what the vendor was led to believe on purchase, the car sold
to them in 2012 as a Zeppelin spec car.
Showing just 42,144 miles, the
car has been with our long-term husband, and then wife owners since 2012 (four
owners in total) and is reluctantly for sale due to lack of use (and sad death
of our vendor’s husband) covering minimal miles in the last three years to
and from the MOT station from its storage facility. Within the history file, we
find the V5C, substantial Maybach branded owner’s pack and service book
revealing 5 stamps, the last in March 2016 at 39,479 miles at a cost of £2,297
by Maybach Centre of Excellence, Weybridge who carried out four of the five
services stamped, few invoices and numerous old MOTs dating back to 2012 along
with the current MOT valid until January 2022 with no advisories
recorded.
A bonus is the inclusion of the registration number pictured
which is sure to have a value of its own or leave it on for an added layer of
exclusivity.
An exciting opportunity to acquire a rare, powerful and
imposing car with low mileage, low owners and incredible spec.
