1990 Citroen BX 19 GTi 4x4
No
Reserve
In the current ownership since 1996; off the
road in storage for the last 10 years +; super rare 4x4 example with only a
handful remaining; ideal for re-commissioning
Hidden away locally for at least the last 10 years this uber-rare
Citroen BX 19 GTi 4x4 features the PSA XU9 four cylinder engine, similar that
found in the Peugeot 405 Sri and 205 GTi and develops here, 125bhp driving all
four wheels via 5-speed manual transmission.
Finished in white with grey
cloth interior the car looks remarkably sound and complete, bar the obvious
damaged rear light lens (spare in the car) and missing front fog lamp lens etc
as pictured.
Inside, the interior looks to have worn its 112,908 miles
well. We see electric front an rear windows, slide sunroof and of course the
lever for that clever suspension.
No attempt has been made to start the
car given how long it has been stood so we do not know if it runs, or how well
it runs or drives and if the suspension works – the car is being sold in need of
a thorough recommissioning given its been sitting in a barn for many years.
The history file consists of the V5C, which shows it to have been in our
vendor’s hands since December 1996 with just 2 previous owners recorded,
Haynes workshop manual, owner's manual and it looks not to have had an
MOT since digital records began in 2006 with no tests recorded.
An
exciting opportunity to bag a rare classic – the GTi is rare in itself nowadays,
let along in 4x4 spec – an online check suggests it could be 1 of only 5
remaining but don’t take our word for it.
