Stalled restoration project off the road since
2017 with great scope; bucket seats, new (loose) wings and front panel
Dating from January 1991 this Rover era Mini 1000
City E has been with out vendor since January 2016 when he purchased it with the
intent to strip and restore. Some panel removal work began in earnest that year
with new panels ordered (as pictured) but the work then slowed, and stagnated
remaining in the current state of undress as pictured since then in his garage –
we’ve all been there, full of excitement and good intent then life just gets in
the way.
The car looks sound enough for an old Mini with new wings and
front panel included, bucket seats and some other bits/parts as pictured loose
in the car.
The history file includes the V5C showing 11 previous owners,
a selection of invoices for parts purchased, 14 old MOTs dating back to year
2000, invoices for works carried out including a welding repair to the OS floor
and fitment of a new charcoal 1-piece dash and speedo cable in December 2016 and
a purchase invoice dated January 2016. The Mini currently shows 85,999 miles
which looks to be correct from what we can see from the MOT history back to
2000.
Buyers please note, the car has had two registered colour changes
from red to white in 2006, then back to its original red again in 2011 and
was also subject to an Insurance write-off and registered Category-D in November
2003.
We have not had the car running on site, nor has the vendor since
the last MOT expired in 2017 but given the wealth of knowledge and huge parts
availability it shouldn’t prove too difficult to have it going and on the road
again where it belongs.
