2003 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 (996)
A lovely
low-mileage 6-speed manual example with just 53,704 miles showing; well optioned
example including sports exhaust with a fresh clean MOT until October
2022
Supplied new by Porsche Centre Exeter in May
2003 this smart face-lift 996 generation of 911 comes to us in desirable Carrera
4 guise, which of course means it has the added advantage of all-wheel
drive.
Under the engine cover, at the back, we find the water-cooled 3.6
litre flat six engine developing 315Bhp driving all-four wheels via the more
desirable 6-speed manual transmission.
Finished in the lovely hue of
Lapis Blue Metallic (LM5W) the car rides on its original 18inch 5-spoke Carrera
alloy wheels (411) finished in silver. The option code for this example reveals
it to be a well specified car and includes the following factory options –
graphite grey (CZ) full leather interior, sports exhaust (XLF), headlamp washers
(288), seat heating (342), rear window wiper (425), wheel caps with coloured
Porsche crest (446), Harmon analogue sound system (490), top tinted windscreen
(567), Litronic (Xenon) headlights (601), park assist (635), 6-disc Becker CD
changer (692), leather rear seats (936) and leather dashboard and door panels
(981).
This example also carries the option code ‘09991’ which means it
was treated to a bespoke Porsche option, where the car is taken off the
production line for fitment of bespoke options which are often tricky to
establish without the original bill of sale although undoubtedly a desirable
asset.
Looking very well, the car has covered only 53,704 miles and comes
with a good history file including the V5C showing just 4-former keepers to our
present lady of 3.5 years, the owner’s pack & service book revealing 8
service stamps, the last by Porsche specialist Braunton Engineering in August
2018 at 52,229 miles (which is only c.1,500 miles ago) along with a further 2
stamps for brake fluid changes and 1 for 4 year condition report.
In
addition, the history file includes a selection of invoices for parts and
maintenance including a replacement AC control panel in January 2021 costing
£371, a £312 spend in June 2019 on a leaking coolant pipe union, a repair to the
steering angle sensor and replacement engine oil pressure switch in July 2019 at
a cost of £1,285, replacement brake pipes in April 2017 costing £1,185 and new
AC condensers and drier in October 2011 costing £1,159.
In addition to
the 5 old MOTs on file, the current test is valid to October 2022 with no
advisories recorded. Ready to be enjoyed, this later model 996 C4 offers all
weather performance with a nice spec, low mileage and low owners and we think,
good investment appeal.
