Description
1991 Land Rover Discovery I
No
Reserve
An original and unmolested local car; plenty of
history; from long-term ownership; sensible miles
Now that Defenders
are more expensive than Rolls Royce' and old Range Rovers worth more than
Bentleys, attention seems to have turned to the next best thing - the Land
Rover Discovery.
Interest in the early ones has been strong for a while,
with the early factory GWAC (pronounced Geewak refering to their numberplates
Gxxx WAC) cars commanding signifcant premiums.
This example was
registered a year or so after introduction, so although not one of the first,
incorporates the funky and really quite fabulous interior designed
by Terence Conran.
Supplied new by Hereford Land Rover, it has
been in the same ownership since it was just a few years old and has been well
maintained along the way (Still has dealer supplied number plates and window
stickers). A local car, there are 13 stamps in the service book, shared between
Hereford Land Rover and Bishops of Bromyard. The rest of the book pack is
present and there are 13 old MOTs on file which confirm the current 107,800
miles as correct.
Its most recent MOT has expired within the last few
days so it will need a new ticket before being used in anger again. The last
showed just two advisories, one for a slight oil leak in the steering box and
the other for a nearside front weak floor whatever that might be....
On
offer at No Reserve, the highest bid on the day buys the car which has plenty of
life left in it and will doubtless be depreciation proof. A well cared for
locally owned car, this early Disco has a lot to like about it.
