Description
1967 MGB GT
Early three-synchro car;
mechanically and structurally sound, but would be improved by repaint and
cosmetics
This MG spent 20 years languishing in a
barn until purchased and recommissioned by the current vendor in 2017.
The vendor reports that the car is mechanically good, structurally sound,
but aesthectically challenged.
It has an MGB Hive unleaded engine, with
invoices on file, that is believed to have done about 20,000 and pulls
strongly. It still retains it's original aluminium bonnet. There are invoices
for work undertaken in the 80s and 90s.
Work carried out by the current
vendor post 2017 includes; new combined oil pressure and water
temperature gauge, rebuilt brakes with new rear wheel cylinders and
adjusters with new seals for the master cylinder, clutch master and slave also
given new seals, new top and bottom hoses and door locks. It was treated to a
full service with oil and filter change, new antifreeze and flushed out braking
system with new fluid. Everything was again checked over before the last MOT (to
September 2022) and all greasing points done. It's worth noting that the car was
driven 100 miles to the sale, making this is a great opportunity to repaint and
detail whilst still being able to drive the car.
These early
three-syncro cars, although essentially the same as the later models are just
much nicer cars - the many small details and earlier trim making them
particularly lovely to drive.
