Description
1999 Land Rover Defender 90
UK registered
ex-Italian army truck; LHD; superb condition underneath; chassis looks as good
as new; rugged and gutsy 300TDI engine; the last vehicle you would ever need to
buy
First UK registered late last year, this very smart ex-Italian
military Land Rover presents in remarkable condition. It has had a new speedo
head, so we do know the indicated 17 miles is not correct, although a quick look
around the vehicle suggests it has seen very little work since it was built in
November 1999.
A special order for the Army, it comes with a bullet-proof
300TDi engine mated to the equally indestructable R380 gearbox. Produced at a
time when the TD5 unit was supplied in the civvy models, the Army would have
opted for this tough Turbocharged engine for reliability and practicality
reasons.
The accompanying BMIHT certificate lists it as a Defender
'basic' in Nato Green delivered through Land Rover SPA in Italy. In order
for it's UK registration, it was presented for an MOT which
it passed with no advisories - current until June 2022.
One of
the most remarkable things about this vehcile is the condition of the chassis
which retains its factory paint and actually looks factory
fresh. If you are looking for a Land Rover to last a lifetime, this
is a car for you....
