1967 Triumph Vitesse
Smart and well cared for
Convertible; ready to go
Dating from June 1967,
this lovely MkI Triumph Vitesse 2-litre is finished in White with contrasting
black vinyl hood and must be one of the nicest we’ve seen in recent
times.
The subject of much recent expenditure
and work by a retired engineer, the car has seen two new floor pans, five new
tyres, new battery, a new fuel tank and sender unit, new soft-top, new brake
system components, new clutch with slave and master cylinders, new water pump,
heater unit, plugs, points and service kit.
In
addition, the cylinder head was skimmed and fitted with new valves suitable for
unleaded fuel plus new piston rings, head gasket and new core plugs
and seals were fitted. The interior
has alos seen new door trim, carpets and a new boot lid rubber. The windscreen wiper motor was
refurbished, four new shock absorbers fitted and the underside cleaned
then treated with underseal and over painted with wax oil.
The car was driven to the sale, and on moving it around for these
shots and videos it started well and sounds superb
The history
file includes the V5C recording one former keeper (this may not be accurate),
some photos of the floor pan replacements and a limited selection of invoices
for parts and works undertaken over the last 18 months.
Ready to be enjoyed, the car represents an exciting opportunity to
‘jump in and drive’ a well-executed and considerate restoration of a cracking
little car. Drop the hood, jump in and enjoy and let the nostalgia
flow.
