new in May 2005 this later, face-lift E46 generation 3-series Cabriolet comes to
us in popular 318CI Sport guise and is finished in Titan Silver with contrasting
black hood and rides on its original 17” five-spoke alloy
wheels.
Ordered in desirable M-Sport spec, the
car features M-Sport styling to the body with a more aggressive front bumper,
sill mouldings and rear bumper along with M-Sport suspension, which is both
lower and firmer. Inside, we find
anthracite sports seats finished in Alcantara and carbon effect trim (known as
alu-black cube) extending to the gear-knob and wing mirror casings too.
In addition, the spec includes digital climate
control with A/C, electric windows all-round, electric mirrors, dynamic
stability control, multi-function steering wheel, run-flat indicator, hard-top
preparation, auto dipping rear view mirror, electric seats with driver memory,
front armrest, park distance control, on-board computer, hi-gloss shadow line
trim, M-Sport leather trimmed steering wheel, white indicator lenses and a
retro-fit radio/CD.
Under the bonnet
is the popular 2.0-litre N46 four-cylinder engine which develops here, in
318 guises, 140bhp driving the rear wheels via five-speed manual
transmission.
Showing just 76,011 miles, the
car looks to be in most appealing condition inside and out. The history file includes the V5C
revealing five former keepers The owner’s pack and service book records two
stamps in a replacement book, both by Lindleys Autocentres, the last in 2016 at
50,409 miles plus a further three hand-written entries at 62,500 miles in 2018
and 67,221 miles in 2019 by Eden Tyres & Servicing of Nottingham and lastly
in June 2021 at 74,735 miles by Auto Repairs of Ilkeston which looks to have
been a full-service including plugs.
A note
under the first Lindleys stamp in May 2015 references fitment of a new engine at
43,828 miles although there is no supporting paperwork for this. The current MOT is valid until May 2022
recording no advisories. Coming
with two keys, the car looks ready to be enjoyed offering enough performance for
most and stylish looks of the later E46 with room for four
too.
