1994 Peugeot 205 Junior
Two-owner time-warp
example in wonderfully original order showing just 45,155 miles; 1.6 auto 3-door
model - charming
Supplied new by Walchry Motors
Peugeot of Walton-on-Thames in March 1994 this lovely example really is a
time-warp car - and a rare treat.
Showing just
45,155 miles this three-door Peugeot 205 Junior can boast just two lady owners
from new and has been in the current ownership since January 1996 seeing local
use only.
Clearly never raced or rallied, this 205 ‘Junior’ spec model is
finished in Silver and has retained its original 13” steel wheels with plastic
hubcaps and features a 1.6 litre XU5 petrol engine driving the front wheels via
four-speed automatic transmission. (Interestingly, few guides note the presence
of the Junior version with this engine/gearbox combination, instead referring to
it as an XL, but it clearly states Junior on the car and the
logbook).
Inside, we find blue velour/cloth
interior, electric windows, original Clarion Peugeot radio/Cassette player,
manually adjustable mirrors and glass tilt-only glass
sunroof.
The history file includes the V5C
recording one previous lady owner, the owner’s pack and service book revealing
three stamps, the last in 2003 at 29,307 miles. However, the sole invoice on file is
reassuringly recent and details a timing belt change including water pump, crank
shaft seal and auxiliary drive belt in January 2021 at 45,043 miles and two old
MOT certificates.
The
current MOT runs until February 2023 and records no advisories. A quick glance
at the online MOT history shows the car has covered little over 5,000 miles in
the last ten years and less than 10,000 miles in the last 17
years.
Ready to be enjoyed, or perhaps tucked
away for the future, the car is a rare find with low mileage, low owners and an
unusual engine and gearbox combination. Sweet.
