Description
1998 Porsche 911 (996)
Sub-100,000 mile
example; IMS bearing done; good history and good colour
combination
Supplied new by Glenvarigill in Glasgow, this February
1998 Tiptronic S has had just three former keepers since.
Painted in
Artic Silver with black leather, it was ordered with Tiptronic control on the
steering wheel, Harmann sound system, electric sunroof and draped leather seat
covers.
The service book shows 15 service stamps, eavenly spread over its
lifetime, the last three by Club Autosport in 2015, 2017 and 2021 while in the
hands of the current keeper. These confirm that during the 2015 service, they
fitted a European Parts Solution IMS bearing kit, rear main oil seals and new
flywheel bolts - all you need to know really. During this scheduled maintenance,
they also fitted a new steering rack, de-rusted and treated the underside,
replaced several brake pipes and did work to the gearbox and torque converter.
Later in 2018 they undertook some cosmetic repairs to the exterior and a wheel
refurbish costing nearly £2,500 in all.
The file includes a raft of bills
dating back through the years showing this 911 to have been very well cared for
since delivery.
The mileage has increased to 99,500 miles from new, which
all accords with the service book and MOT records. Its current ticket expires in
September 2022 which shows one advisory for 'undertrays fitted' - why do they do
that? There are 13 old tickets on file.
A quality battery conditioner is
hard-wired in the front luggage compartment and the stereo has a wire to connect
to your phone.
If a 996 is on your radar, this very smart and well
maintained example looks worth careful consideration.
