2005 BMW 330CD SE Cabriolet (E46)
Attractive
and rare to find face-lift 3.0 diesel variant in comfortable SE spec with
6-speed manual 'box showing just 79,891 miles; with our careful lady owner
since 2014
Supplied new by BMW Wellsway of Bath
in August 2005 this later model facelift E46 generation of 3-series comes to us
in rare to find and desirable 330CD guise and in SE
specification.
Finished in Monaco Blue
Metallic, with matching dark Blue Mohair hood, the car sits on its original 17”
five-spoke alloy wheels and looks well with very good paint and bodywork for its
age and mileage of just 79,891.
Under the
bonnet, we find the 3.0-litre M57TUD30 straight-six turbocharged diesel engine
which develops 201Bhp and a whopping 410NM of torque driving the rear wheels
here via six-speed ZF S6-53 transmission which offers considerable performance
yet surprisingly efficient fuel economy – the best of both
worlds?
Inside the cabin, we find comfortable
light grey SE spec leather seats with electric adjustment and driver 3-stage
memory, automatic lights, multi-function steering wheel, cruise control,
electric windows, fully automatic electric roof with heated rear screen, parking
sensors, three-stage heated seats, tyre pressure monitoring, traction control,
automatic digital climate control with AC and original BMW Business radio/CD
player with brushed aluminium trim and black carpets.
This
BMW has belonged to a former member of Brightwells staff for the past eight
years and is therefore a car well known to us. She has had it maintained
locally at Oldfields Garage in Leominster, bills, receipts and service records
being available in the file. The full ownership history of the car is known
(three former keepers) and the mileage is also known to be correct, the current
owner purchasing it in 2014 at 47000 miles. All the original handbooks etc as
supplied new are present, as are all the tools, the warning triangle, the BMW
first aid kit (unopened) and the rear window even still carries the original BMW
supplier's sticker! The service book records six stamps including PDI, the last
at 72,818 miles in August 2019.
In addition, we
also find a selection of invoices for routine maintenance and parts including
replacement front lower rear arm bushes in July 2021, a new battery in November
2021, new rear shocks in June 2018 and exchange brake calliper in June 2017
along with a BMW recall notice, BMW NMR data check, nine old MOTs plus the
current valid until August 2022 with two advisories for rear tyre
wear.
Finished
in deep metallic Monaco blue it is equipped with full electric memory grey
leather heated seats, cruise control, CD player, a new battery and the hood is
fully working and in good condition.
The
330CD is an extremely rare variant of the 3 series cabriolet, particularly with
a manual gearbox, being a fully equipped top of the range model yet with the
softer, more comfortable SE suspension. In all her years of ownership, the owner
tells us she has never encountered a similar specification car. The strong,
three-litre straight-six pulls very high gearing, facilitating 47/48mpg on a run
and we understand that this is a chain cam engine, obviating the need for
cambelt changes.
Ready
to be enjoyed, this unusual 330CD spec Cabriolet offers a great mix of
performance with 40mpg+ economy with good looks and nice mileage. A
rare opportunity to purchase an unusual and original BMW convertible that has
never been abused , just in time for Summer!
