1968 MGB Roadster
Tidy little sportscar with
few owners and much recent expenditure; overdrive; wire wheels; walnut dash;
servo brakes; Koni shocks; new seat covers; last serviced 300 miles ago; ready
to enjoy
First registered in November 1968, this
MGB Roadster has had just four owners from new, according to the V5C, our vendor
acquiring the car in June 2019 from a dealer in Lymington, the car having spent
some years in Northern Ireland prior to that.
The car looks most attractive in British Racing Green with
overdrive, wire wheels, wood-rim steering wheel, walnut dash and door cappings.
A modern Pioneer CD/radio has also been fitted along with a battery cut-off
switch behind the driver’s seat.
Over the last
three years the vendor has looked after the car well, with plenty of invoices to
show regular servicing and various new parts. The back axle and differential
were stripped and rebuilt in 2021 when a new battery was also fitted; it had a
new centre armrest in 2020; a new brake servo, handbrake cable, Koni shock
absorbers, rear brake cylinders and hood frame were fitted in 2019 when the car
was also waxoil treated underneath.
It has been
serviced three times since 2019, regardless of the mileage covered, the last
service being carried out in June 2021 since when the car has only covered 300
miles. In fact 10 old MOTs (Irish and English) show that the car has only
covered some 4,500 miles since 2011, the odometer currently showing 59,995
miles. The current MOT runs to 9th June 2022 with no advisories
recorded.
As you can see in the photos, the
car is in generally good order throughout and has been starting promptly and
running nicely as we have moved it around on site with good 60psi oil pressure.
It also comes with an owner’s handbook and a Haynes workshop
manual.
