Barn find D-Suffix with period Milner Daihatsu
engine conversion; dry stored for the last 10 years; solid project
car
This Tuscan blue D-Suffix Range Rover shows an unwarranted
71,000 miles and has come from long-term dry storage. It was fitted from new
with some choice options, which include headrests, Sundym glass and
power-steering.
It has been retrofitted with a Daihatsu D50 2.8-litre
turbo diesel engine - an indestructable unit with chain-driven cam that
was a very popular conversion in period. A company called Milner supplied the
parts for this one, or did it themselves which turns 15mpg into 30mpg at a
stroke.
We haven't attempted to start it, but it turns with good,
consistent compressions.
The ignition barrel has been removed so we
don't have any keys. It has the usual areas of corrosion to the sills and inner
wings but the chassis, bulkhead and A-pillars look sound. It comes with a
complete interior plus a fibreglass headliner and the information on the V5C
quotes the Daihatsu engine conversion which would suggest it was professionally
done.
On SORN, it has a current V5C and looks like a nice easy project.
On offer at No Reserve, this is a great opportunity.....
