1997 BMW Z3 Roadster

Pretty, earlier narrow body Z3 with manual 'box, 1.9 litre engine; smart blue hood and 15 service stamps inc. PDI

Supplied new in October 1997 this earlier, narrow body pre-facelift Z3 Roadster comes to us in attractive Atlanta Blue with matching blue Mohair soft-top and rides on its original 16” five-spoke alloy wheels, shod in decent Cooper rubber.

Under that shapely bonnet, we find the 1.9 litre M44B19 four-cylinder petrol engine which develops 138bhp and 180NM of torque, driving the rear wheels here, via five-speed manual transmission giving ample performance for most with a nod towards economy.

Inside, we find a simple specification including black leather seats with electric seat base adjustment, traction control, power steering, ABS, electric windows, electric mirrors, digital clock and manual hood mechanism.  The radio has been replaced with a more modern radio/CD unit.

Showing 90,822 miles, the car presents well bar a few bubbles on both sill bottoms with a very nice roof and tidy interior.  The car’s history file includes the V5C revealing 11 former keepers to our vendor who has enjoyed the car sparingly for the past five years, the owner’s pack and service book recording an impressive 15 stamps inc. PDI, the most recent at 84,129 miles in July 2017.  Prior to that, a handwritten entry at 80,506 miles in Augst 2015 suggests the Z3 was treated to a new clutch as well as service by Steve Jones Garage of Upton on Severn.

In addition, we find the current MOT valid until July 2022 with just one minor advisory recorded for ‘brake pipe corroded or covered in grease/other material’. The MOT history also reveals the car to have covered few miles since 2019 as a result of the Pandemic and associated restrictions, with only c.70 miles covered between test in 2019 and what we see now.

Ready to be enjoyed, and on offer at No Reserve, these earlier, narrow body Z3’s are arguably the prettier cars and, as featured that famous Bond scene – it’s even the same colour as the movie car!
