Description
1985 Mercedes-Benz 380SL Auto
LHD
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio; imported and
first registered in UK, December 2019
Arriving
in the USA market in 1972, the Mercedes-Benz SL was an advanced and
luxurious sportscar built to replace the iconic Pagoda W113 model. Aimed at the
top end of the market, they were a huge success with some 237,000 units
produced worldwide from 1971 to 1989.
Launched
in 1980, the V8 380SL received
a new four-speed automatic transmission, which further improved the driving
experience. Suspension continued to be the same fully independent set up as in
the earlier cars and four-wheel disc braking remained standard. The 380SL ended
production in 1985, the year of this car's manufacture, and as can be seen, she
carries the bumper extensions required to comply with US
regulations.
Since
being imported in December 2019, the car has been maintained and had little use.
It has an MOT to March 2023 with a few minor advisories and has driven
nicely while moving around our site. There is very little in the history file so
its a case of coming along and giving it close inspection - it looks
attractively priced and has loads of potential to make a nice
car.
