1969 Daimler V8 250
No Reserve
From a
deceased estate; current owner 9 years; previous owner 13 years; Coombs spats;
wire wheels; very presentable
First
registered in January 1969, this Daimler V8 250 was acquired by our vendor via a
Silverstone Auction in May 2013. There is very little history with the car prior
to this, the auction catalogue description at the time stating that it had been
owned by the vendor for the previous 13 years.
It was further described as being ‘very solid and structurally
excellent with no major corrosion in the floor, boot well, arches and suspension
mounts and good panel fit’. The catalogue went on to say that it drove well with
a ‘healthy engine’, good oil pressure, smooth gearbox and effective brakes, the
mileage at this point being 86,451. The paintwork and the interior were also
referred to in complimentary fashion.
An
invoice shows that the car had been serviced in September 2009 at 85,823 miles
when the front brake calipers were also renewed. There are also 23 old MOTs to
show that the car has always been in regular light use, the mileage rising from
71,723 in 1993 to 90,276 in 2017. Other invoices show routine upkeep and
servicing during the current 9-year ownership including a refurbished steering
box in 2018. The odometer currently shows 91,195 miles.
As you can see in the photos, the car does indeed look very
presentable with decent paintwork, a nice interior, wire wheels and sporty
Coombs spats at the rear. Starting promptly and running well as we have moved it
around on site, with good 40psi oil pressure, it is on offer here from a
deceased estate at no reserve so the best bid takes it
home.
