Description
A 4 pint bottle of Massougnes 1802 Cognac.
This pre-phylloxera, ultra rare Cognac was produced in the Napoleonic era, namely 1802. The bottle is a 4 pint (2.27 litre) demijohn.
The bottle has been independently authenticated by David Baker of Brandy Classics. He originally brought the bottle into the country in the late 1990s and sold it to the Gleneagles Hotel - from where it was purchased in 2007 by the current owner. A copy of this authentication is available from Paddy Shave.
The owner of the Massougnes Estate is the Comtesse de la Bourdeliere, Marie-Antoinette Pintaurd des Allees - a direct descendent of Henry II and Eleanor of Acquitaine.
At over 200 years old this bottle represents an opportunity to purchase a supremely rare piece of history - for the consumer or the investor.
