2002 Honda Integra Type R (DC5)
Sought after
JDM spec hot-hatch with pokey K20 engine; interesting investment
appeal
Dating from September 2002 this JDM spec
Honda Integra Type-R is one cool cookie, and one that has seen continued
popularity and demand and concomitant rise in value.
Under the bonnet of this DC5 Integra we find the famed K20 2.0
litre inline four-cylinder petrol engine featuring DOHC and V-Tec variable
valve-timing rated at 217Bhp driving the front wheels through six-speed
close-ratio manual transmission.
The JDM spec
Type-R features an LSD, stiffer springs and shocks as well as HID head lights,
ali pedals, Brembo four-pot brakes, 17inch twin spoke wheels and suede Recaro
interior – much as we see here.
Finished in
silver, the car has worn its 21 years with relative ease, bar a few marks and
signs of cosmetic remediation as pictured – but then these cars tend to be
enthusiast owned, and driven as they were intended.
Imported and registered in the UK in December 2012 the car has seen
five former keepers to the current of 16 months and comes with the added benefit
of a K-tuned exhaust system, genuine Type-R floor mats, JDM wind deflectors and
original service book…in Japanese.
The car
shows 93,017 miles/KM on the odometer, which looks to be a mix of both – its
first MOT in December 2008 records 18,904 miles with this increasing over the
years to that currently recorded.
The current
MOT is valid until March 2023 and recorded no advisories, indicating this most
sought after of hot hatches is ready to be enjoyed.
