1994 Peugeot 205 D Junior Manhattan
Tidy and
unmolested naturally aspirated 1.8 diesel variant showing only 93,445 miles
covered by its three owners; power steering
Dating from March 1994 this late model Peugeot 205 D was supplied
by Evans Halshaw of Halesowen and comes to us in Diesel Junior spec, finished in
Platinum Silver four-door hatchback guise.
Under the bonnet, we find the ‘go forever’ 1.8 litre naturally
aspirated XUD7 diesel engine which produces 58Bhp driving the front wheels via
five-speed manual transmission.
Interestingly, these are a good engine, offering astounding economy and
ample performance from the torquey four cylinder motor. It also has the
desirable power steering.
Inside the cabin, we
find a wonderfully simple, no frills interior with comfortable blue and grey
cloth seats and door cards, radio/CD player, keep-fit manual windows, manual
adjustment mirrors, heated rear screen and analogue clock.
This modest little gem has covered 93,445 miles which have been
covered by its two former keepers and our vendor who drove the car over from
Stourbridge.
The history file includes the V5C
confirming just two former keepers, the owner’s pack and service book recording
some 19 stamps plus three hand written entries, the last stamp in 2016 at 91,655
miles by Midland Car Tech.
In addition, we also
find the original bill of sale for £7331, 12 old MOTs, the current MOT which is
valid until June 2023 showing no advisories (and less than 10k covered in the
last 16 years) plus a selection of bills and notes on recent works undertaken
including fitment of a new clutch kit during our vendor’s tenure in February
2021.
Ready to be enjoyed this is a simple and
jolly little car with low ownership and lower miles for its
age.
