Lot Ended
Description
From a deceased estate; three owners from new, the
current since 1963; only 7,500 miles; sympathetically restored in 1999/2000 and
barely used since
Supplied new by Godfreys of Croydon in November
1957, this Lambretta LDB 150 had just two London owners before our vendor
acquired it way back in the summer of 1963. Notes on file from the vendor state
that he used it as a run-about for a couple of years before going abroad,
lending the scooter to a friend who repainted it by hand (!) during his absence.
The scooter lay unused and tucked up in a nice dry garage from 1983 –
1999 when the vendor decided to restore it. Invoices show that various new parts
were supplied by Cambridge Lambretta Workshop including a complete new exhaust;
tyres; head gasket; HT leads; handlebar levers; various rubber seals and hoses
etc. All the brightwork was rechromed and the scooter was repainted in the
original red and light grey, the whole process being documented by photos on
file.
Returned to the road in 2000, it was then lightly used until 2006
when it was put back into storage. The current indicated mileage of just under
7,500 is said to be correct and is backed up by notes from the vendor and by 8
old MOTs. Retaining its original (transferable) registration number, SRK 422, it
also comes with its original buff logbook and a Heritage Certificate.
On
offer here from a deceased estate and unridden for the last 17
years, this remarkably low mileage Lambretta still kicks over
easily with good compression but will doubtless benefit from some precautionary
recommissioning before venturing forth once more.
